  5. Hi Aubrey,
Hmmm dry and itchy skin is a winter peril, don't despair there is a solution! One I found when my youngest son started suffering from skin problems (now diagnosed as eczema). It is Aqueous cream, it is cheap, without scent (so as not to clash with your own perfume) you can get it at the pharmacy and it works! See this link http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/100000160.html

  6. Hi Mirka, thank you for following my blog, I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am ;))
Hmmmm, yes dry lips are not attractive but we can easily see the back of this common winter dilemma. The solution comes in two forms. One at the high end and one which is cheap as chips and they both work a treat. The luxury product is Creme De La Mer Lip Balm a little pot of delight (see this link for reveiws) http://reviews.cremedelamer.com/3815/PROD2464/reviews.htm.
The budget product is 'yellow soft paraffin BP' see this link http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/100002952.html

  7. Hi Paula, thanks for following my blog and for your winter beauty dilemma. I have just the thing for your flat hat hair situation. Pop a can of 'On the Go Batiste dry shampoo in your hand/nappy bag and give a quick spritz to the roots after removing said hat. It really gives hair volume and is great for after a workout too. Good luck with the draw. Love me x

  8. Hi Pixie's Mum, yes it is treacherous under foot and the way round it is to own a pair of Moon Boots and wear them at every opportunity. Not only do they give you grip, the apres ski chic look they also do wonders for your legs, being so chunky they make even the thick set leg look skinny. See the link to Glamour Article 'Moon Boots are Back' http://www.glamour.com/fashion/blogs/slaves-to-fashion/2010/11/trend-alert-moon-boots-are-bac.html

  9. Hello! I'm your newest follower @verybusymama
My dilema every winter is very dry chapped hands :(

    Have tweeted too! thanks xx

  10. Hi Little M, welcome to my blog and I hope you enjoy it. Chapped dry hands can be so sore and the best way to treat them is with Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream (it is actually more of a vaseline texture). It is a little pricey, however it last FOREVER. Another tip is to pop cotton gloves on over night once you have applied it. I hope very much that this helps and that you have beautiful pain free hands in the next few weeks in time for any festive parties you may have. xxx

  16. Hi Laura, thanks for entering the comp. Modern day heating and no sun are a recipe for dry skin and breakouts. The best way to treat this prob is from within. By this I mean taking vitamins for your skin, the vitamin you need is vitamin E, in oil form or my preferred choice is in capsule/tablet form. Buy a good quality product see here. The benefits are clearing breakouts by unclogging pores resulting in far fewer breakouts, accelerating the skins healing process and it helps keep skin youthful to boot. Wishing you glowing skin throughout the winter.
Look out for my upcoming GIVEAWAY of Vitamin E tablets and a full review of the benefits

  20. I'm always cold in this weather so my dilemma is trying to wear lots of warm layers without looking like some sort of mad bag lady! Although when it gets this cold I don't care so much what I look like as long as I'm warm and cosy!

  22. Hi Emily, thanks for entering this GIVEAWAY and for your winter dilemma. You can still look fab in this weather, it is all about a thermal layer, yes I did say thermal but don't think Grandpa ribbed Long Johns, think gorgeous lacy, think fitted and think stylish.

Jigsaw have some beautiful lacy thermal vests, well I know my Grandpa would not have worn these!

Sweaty Betty, have gorgeous, super soft thermal bamboo cotton tops I wear mine under jumpers (cashmere is the warmest choice for jumpers) or on it's own it really is gorgeous and it keeps it keeps its colour.

Another great thermal collection, comes from Uniqlo, have a look at the full collection including gorgeous roll necks (2 for £19.99) which are great for layering without bulking up your look. This range is uniquely developed with Heat tech to keep you snuggly warm in this wintery weather.

Also always keep your feet warm with some cashmere socks - a luxury but sooo worth it, I find if my feet are warm, my whole body is warm.

    Keep warm xxx

  23. Hi Nicky, dry, flaky skin is a sign of dehydrated skin and the first step is to gently exfoliate the face with a product for dry and sensitive skin, I like Elemis Gentle Rose Exfoliator (gentle enough to use everyday). This will enable the moisturiser to work deep down in the skin and again choose a moisturiser and night cream for dry and sensitive cream.
Use a moisturising face mask once a week.
