Stylish Blogger Award

How lovely, I have been presented with a stylish blogger award, my first award! I will spare you the Gwyneth style speech. I will say thank you, thank you, thank you to the lovely and funny
Jolly Old England who was the kind blogger to pass me this award.  She is an experienced and talented writer who's casual style has you gripped.
Here's how to present this award to those stylish bloggers you follow.
The rules are:
a) Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this award (Tick, see above)
b) Share 7 things about yourself (Tick see below)
c) Award 15 recently discovered bloggers. Have fun choosing... (Tick see below)
d) Contact these bloggers and tell them about the award (in the process)

The seven things about me:

  1. My first pet was a Guinea Pig named 'Herbert'.
  2. I got expelled from school!  (well I did go to a convent).
  3. My parents thought I was a lesbian when I was around 18 years old, the truth was I spared them the meeting of the bad boys I dated at that time. (Must have been the affect of the convent).
  4. I always wear matching underwear (my mother told me 'you never know when you may be taken into hospital'!)
  5. I grind my teeth in my sleep and managed to grind through a guard my dentist made for me.
  6. I don't drink alcohol (I haven't for over 5 years!)
  7. My hair is not naturally blonde, no really I hear you cry!

Spring Summer 2011

Spring is in the air (ahem) well anyway, any excuse for a wardrobe overhaul.  This season we girls are in for a treat, be prepared for 'an all change here' experience.

With tassels, animal print, feathers (bag £95 Reiss) and armour like jewellery not forgetting the statement earrings, our accessories really are going to play a big part in this trend.

There is colour galore oh and it's block, with a fruity theme running through, including coral pink and cobalt blue, citrus, tangerine, metallic and ultimately fruit print.

With a whole mixture of textures to delight your senses, lace, silk, leather, denim, tweed and crochet, which will be tailored, pleated, ruched and asymetric.  You will no doubt be loving greeting the sunnier weather with style.

I'm sure the girls (above) did not take a look at  New Look Spring Summer preview, however we can be thankful that we can all get the look without breaking the bank, genius.

How perfect is that? no more black (I know it's flattering) or skinny jeans (I KNOW they are not), new season, new image, this trend is going to take my 'girliness' to another level, with fluid, floaty, voluminous, sheer and preppy skirts, in fabrics such as lace, organza and chiffon I shall be sweeping, swirling and draping my way through the season.

Have fun with YOUR new look and let me know how you are embracing it. xxx

Three Reasons to be Cheerful

1.  In bed on a Saturday night before 9pm, silk
pillowcases, (anti ageing) and electric blanket (I think I have already aged!) with my gorgeous husband and our lovely children tucked up in their own beds, oh how Saturday nights pleasures have changed.
2.  To be starting the year healthy and happy, with loads to look forward to (see my goals) including a marathon on the North Downs for my dear friends' brother who is suffering with Motor Neurones Disease.

    3.  My blog writing is becoming a real part of my life, it is fun and my lovely followers have given me the confidence to pursue this area.

    Best Beauty Apps for Ipad/iphone

These are great fun or maybe I just don't get out enough!  Let me know what you think and BTW they are all FREE.

Stila:  Choose your complexion and hair colour and add make up for your own look and shop too - what's not to love?

iPur: Upload a photo of yourself on your iphone, then your face comes up and you apply make up, choosing your own colours until you are happy with the look.  Then start all over again!

Modiface:  This is soooo much fun, you can use it for a makeover as above BUT I love the anti ageing/ageing tool and hair colour change too.  The scary part is the weight gain tool, which is encouraging me to stay on my post festive period healthy eating plan - it was not a pretty sight!

    Enjoy.

The Powers of Vitamin E - GIVEAWAY

Vitamin E - the wonder drug (well vitamin!)
A dermatologist relative of a friend once told her that if she was going to do anything to help herself looking young it was to be to take Vitamin E for her skin.  Well that was enough for me, I have been religiously popping these ever since.
Some of the skin benefits include its ability to reduce the appearance of stretch marks and age spots. In addition, research has found vitamin E is effective in strengthening the surface of skin, and helping to keep water trapped within the body. This helps prevent dehydration as well as the development of fine lines and wrinkles.
    Well doesn't everyone want that?!
Vitamin E is also an antioxidant, which helps slow the aging of skin cells by reducing the production of an enzyme called collagenase, which breaks down collegen, causing the skin to sag and wrinkle
Well come on then girls what are you waiting for?  Start the new year helping yourself to look younger for longer
It really is worth spending the money on good quality vitamin supplements, cheaply manufactured vitamins include synthetic indigestible binding ingredients in order to pack everything into one convenient pill.  This can pass through your system without being completely absorbed.  This Solgar Vitamin E is a quality brand and has been generously donated as a GIVEAWAY from the super helpful Lisa at Healthy Peach a site with only the best products.

    To enter:
    1. Become a Follower
    2. Leave your skincare queries in the comments
    3. For 2 bonus entries, tweet and facebook this giveaway (let me know you have)
Last entries by Midnight Tuesday 11th January, winner to be announced Midday Wednesday 12th January.  Good Luck.

If you are not lucky enough to win the GIVEAWAY you can use this link to buy 'Solgar Vitamin E' at Healthy Peach, where you will earn points each time you buy.
